Below are some frequently asked questions that you might have before contacting us. If you are unsure, feel free to get in touch via phone or email and we will happily respond to you as soon as we can!

Are you open on the weekend?

We are open 9-11am on Saturday mornings for collections and returns, otherwise we are closed over the weekend. The special Weekend rate applies to all bookings for Saturday/Sunday.

The weekend rate applies to hires collected on a Friday after 3pm and returned on Mondays before 11am.

I can't find what I'm looking for

Give us a call! Even if we don’t have the item you are looking for in stock, we may be able to assist you to find it.

What information do I need to provide to confirm my booking?

We will need the following details from you to confirm your booking:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Mobile number
  • Email address
  • Australian residential address
  • Date and time of pickup and return
  • Details of any potentially hazardous shooting conditions
Can I use a someone else's credit card?

If you need to use someone else’s credit card for your booking, you will need to have them fill out and return the 3rd Party Credit Card Authorisation Form (click here to download) and return it to us prior to collection so we can verify the information provided.

We will not charge a 3rd party credit card until the owner has been contacted and the information on the form has been verified, so allowing enough time for verification is essential.

Can I take the equipment overseas?

Unfortunately no, we only provide equipment for Australian Domestic use and you will be required to provide proof of ID listing an Australian residential address in order to complete your booking.

No equipment hired from GCCH can be taken outside of Australian borders.

What times are we available for pick up and drop off?

Our office hours are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and 9-11am on Saturday.

Appointments for pickup and drop-off gear can be made between 8.30am and 5.30pm. Any appointment requests made outside these hours are considered on a case-by-case basis. We are shooters ourselves, so we understand that things can sometimes happen last minute and shoots run outside normal operating hours.

We operate by appointment only can’t accept walk in’s. We try to be as flexible as possible.

What to bring with you

You will need to bring with you a physical debit/credit card and 100pts of ID to maintain insurance coverage (passport and drivers license recommended).

If you live outside of Australian you will need to have an Australian Resident make the booking on your behalf.

Do we deliver gear to you?

We can offer a delivery service within the local area if needed, however delivery fees do apply.

Posting of gear to you?

Due to insurance limitations, we do not currently allow gear to be delivered via courier. We do however offer an in-house local delivery service (pending availability).

I want to hire for an extended period

All the items on this website list 24 hour, weekend and weekly rates, so extended hires are welcome.

Please note the weekend hire rate only applies to items picked up on Friday after 3pm and returned Monday before 10am.

Weekly rates are for 4-7 consecutive days.

Tardiness - please note

You know how important it is to have your gear on time ready for your shoot, so don’t be tardy when returning it. Often there is another photographer relying on lenses etc, and if there are issues with timeliness, you may be banned from renting with us, and you will probably also get charged a late fee.

Do you offer insurance?

Yes! All of our equipment is fully insured for loss and accidental damage.

Please note that exclusions and terms and conditions apply, so please check with us if you have any questions or are planning a shoot in any potentially hazardous situations including but not limited to over water, aerials, stunts, with vehicles etc.

Gold Coast Camera Hire takes no responsibility, including in Negligence, for any rental availabilities provided to customers which do not come to fruition, or where equipment may be unavailable at the time provided to you. As an example, there may be rare cases where a previous renter has damaged an item, and it thus will would not be available. In short, stuff happens, people break things, or electrical or mechanical issues can occur. This is unfortunate and very rare, but we cannot be held responsible for losses that could occur for you if it causes your booking to fall through at the last minute. However we can say this, our gear is arguably the best, and it is less prone to things going wrong, so we do our best to make sure that it doesn’t happen.


We’re available by phone during our office hours, which are 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Collections and returns can be made by appointment between 8am and 5.30pm.
