The White PLM™ umbrella can be used as a shoot-through, diffused light source or a soft, bounced light source. It provides a wide, unfocused spread of light covering a 150 degree area for close, low specularity lighting with large round catchlights and very soft shadows.

Black Outer Cover

When used with the White PLM™, it eliminates unwanted back spill light, further maximizing the output in bounce mode. The black fabric fits over the back arc of the open umbrella. The fabric has silver spoke tip ends (to fit over the 16 spoke tips on the umbrella) and has a small center hole opening for the umbrella pole tip. Please note this fabric DOES NOT work with the SILVER PLM versions.

Front White Diffusion Cover

The White Front Diffusion Fabric is available for the corresponding size PLM™ umbrellas – for use with both the Soft Silver PLM™ and White PLM™ umbrellas. When used with the Soft Silver PLM™, the beam spread is widened and it becomes a superior bounced-light octabox with very even light across the surface. When used with the White PLM™, it produces a very soft, wide-angle bounced light source. The white fabric fits over the face of the open umbrella and has a center hole opening for the flash unit (with a drawstring to tighten around the face of the flash unit).
